How to Choose a Massage Course

When looking for a massage course, you have many things to consider. Some of the factors you should consider include your level of experience, what type of massage you want to learn, the location of the course, and whether or not the class is self-paced or requires attendance.

Once you have decided on the type, of course at, that is right for you, make sure to check out the locations and schedules. You may find an ideal course near your home or work. And finally, be sure to read reviews before enrolling in any massage courses. This will help ensure that the course is quality and will meet your needs.

Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT): The LMT credential is a professional designation that requires completion of an accredited massage therapy program and passing a certification exam. Many states also require that LMTs possess at least 1,500 hours of supervised experience before they can practice independently.

This experience can come from working as a massage therapist for a company or organization, or from completing a massage therapist training program.

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT): The RMT credential is similar to the LMT credential, but it requires only an associate’s degree in massage therapy from an accredited school.
