PodChatLive can be considered one of several means whereby podiatrists could possibly get free continuing education hours. PodChatLive is hosted by Craig Payne in Australia along with Ian Griffiths from England.
For each episode there is generally one guest talking about there area of expertise or there is one subject with several guests addressing their current topic. One of the issues that was earlier talked about was one regarding patellofemoral pain. The experts in that episode were the physical therapists, Brad Neal and Simon Lack along with the Podiatrist, Alice Corbett. All of them work with one of the hosts, Ian Griffiths in the UK and all were at the same conference and so the show took benefit of getting them altogether in one place. These experts discussed the problem involving if patellofemoral pain is caused by distal or proximal factors and approaches to decide on an intervention based on which or each that could be a problem. A good deal might depend on your own expert biases and belief system. The options can include foot orthoses if it's being influenced local or it may involve hip exercises and gait retraining in case the issue is regarded as proximal. Different athletes will likely be affected by different treatments or interventions for their knee pain dependant upon just what the essential issue is.
